Sheath Wedding Dresses

The sheath silhouette — also known as the column or slip gown — falls straight along the body with no pronounced flare. It creates a tall, slender line and lets fabric and cut speak instead of volume.

At Bride Desire the sheath gown is made in crêpe, heavy silk satin and fine lace. Because there are no underskirts to hide behind, we work with precise seams, built-in support in the bodice and a soft lining that smooths the line.

The silhouette is made for city hall weddings, beach ceremonies, intimate vows and brides who want to move freely all day. It carries a simple train or a long veil beautifully without ever feeling heavy.

Sheath or column? Both are straight lines, but the sheath follows the natural shape of the body softly, while the column falls perfectly vertical with no marked waist or hip. Gowns that work as both appear on both pages.
