Ball Gown Wedding Dresses

The ball gown is the most formal of bridal silhouettes. The waist sits defined and the skirt is built with structure so the shape holds on its own. Where the princess gown is often light and airy in tulle, the ball gown is typically made in heavier fabrics such as mikado, satin or taffeta.

At Bride Desire we work with clean surfaces, deep folds and precise seams so the skirt gains a sculptural character of its own. The bodice can be simple and close-fitting or decorated with lace and beadwork, depending on how much drama you want.

The silhouette is made for large weddings in a formal setting: the church, the castle, the grand ballroom. It carries a long train beautifully and photographs exceptionally well from both front and back.
